Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is the frontrunner in the tradition of red wines of central Italy, specifically of the mountain areas of Abruzzo from which the red grape vine gets its robust and edgy taste. On the first sip, this wine acquires softness becoming harmonious and fresh with intense scents of fruit.

Vineyards are located in the DOC hillside of northern Abruzzo. Soil tending to clayey is strong and mineral. “Vinification” occurs with thermo-controlled maceration to favour a delicate fermentation. Refinement process takes place in steel tanks for six months and in bottle for at least three months.

Colour: Dragon’s blood with purplish reflections.
Perfume: Vinous and intense with notes of red fruit, tobacco, liquorice and pleasantly spiced.
Flavour: Dry, balanced, full-bodied, warm, and slightly tannic.

Pairings:
First courses with meat sauces, grilled and roasted meat, roasted lamb, bush meat, sausages and seasoned cheeses.

It is the traditional harvest, taking place in the months of September and October, allowing a harvesting with the right balance of sugar and acids in the wine produced.
